Hizb ut-Tahrir Envisions Revived Caliphate Reaching Vienna and Washington

web.archive.org · October 9, 2026

CSPII Commentary: A Hizb ut-Tahrir commentary condemns Erdogan for celebrating Ottoman history while preserving Turkey’s secular democracy. It argues that genuine historical continuity requires restoring the Islamic Caliphate, abolished in 1924, and rejecting Western-imposed secularism, democracy, republicanism, and nationalism. Accusing Erdogan of serving Western interests and exploiting Muslim sentiment for votes, it calls for replacing Turkey’s political system with a Hizb ut-Tahrir-led Caliphate, envisioning renewed Islamic conquest extending beyond Vienna to Washington.

EU Eueopean People's Party "Make sure Europe doesn’t fund Islamists"

CSPII Commentary: The European Union's largest party calls to define individuals and organizations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist entities, but mentions a false distinction between "Islam as a faith and political Islam as an ideology". The distinction is false because the political ideology is found in the Koran, Hadith and Sira, and Koran 2:208, 2:85, 4:150-151 and others, instructs to not pick-and-choose which parts to believe in, and Koran 3:7 forbids seeking convenient interpretations.
