Established in 1982 by the United Nations, the focus of this day is to “acknowledge the pain suffered by children throughout the world who are the victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse.”
Islamic political doctrine describes how to treat Kafirs (non-Muslims) and is considered perfect, universal, and eternal. Found in the Koran (the words of Allah) and in Mohammed’s Sunna (his words and deeds, the Hadith, and his biography, the Sira), it is codified in the Sharia (ROT).
Mohammed, the perfect example for all humanity, to be followed and obeyed according to Allah (1), set the example on the treatment of Kafir children during violent jihad:
- Children of the enemy didn't have to be killed, (2, 3) but were taken captive as slaves (4, 5)
- It is of no concern to harm or kill Kafir children during raids as collateral damage. (6, 7) Allah states to wage war on all disbelievers (8)
- The deliberate killing of a child who has no chance of converting to Islam is permitted. The (Islamic) story of Moses and Khidr (Koran 18:60–82), supports this. Khidr, a wise man that Allah sent to accompany Moses on a journey, kills a boy without cause. Moses, shocked, asks why Khidr killed the boy. (9) Khidr explains that he killed him (the son of Muslim parents) out of fear of future unbelief. (10) A hadith confirms this: Mohammed allows the intentional killing of a prospective Kafir child but not a prospective Muslim child (11)
In Political Islam's (PI) doctrine, the Kafir is guilty by default of the greatest sin (greater than killing), i.e., not accepting Allah as God and Mohammed as his prophet. Moreover, Kafirs constantly try to turn Muslims away from Islam; thus, they should always be fought against. (12, 13)
Are there similarities between the above PI doctrine and the treatment of Kafir children by jihadi groups, such as Hamas on Israelis (14), ISIS on Yazidis (15), or Boko Haram on Nigerians (16)? Is it unintentional collateral damage or deliberate, active targeting?
The UN's position in regard to the innocence of children and their right to protection differs from the position taken in the PI doctrine.
