Most of what we know about Islam comes from “experts,” academics who have studied Islamic religion, culture, history, architecture, art and sometimes the Arabic language. On the surface that seems not to be a problem; however, the curriculum studied in order to obtain credentials and then teach others is heavily biased toward presenting Islam through rose-colored glasses instead of honest scrutiny.
Why? Because departments of Middle Eastern and Islamic studies in Kafir (non-Islamic) countries receive substantial funding from wealthy Islamic countries (and sometimes individuals) who wield considerable influence on what is taught, how it’s taught, and who is hired to teach it. Even Christian faith-based institutions of higher learning are not immune to the lure of Islamic money.
The opinions of those in higher education coupled with government policies of inclusion and multiculturalism dictate the rules by which publicly-funded primary and secondary schools are run. In many countries, Catholic as well as secular schools are publicly funded, and, so, they must abide by whatever rules the government has set for public schools in terms of freedom of religion.
In places where there are no or few Islamic schools, Muslim parents often choose to send their children to Catholic schools. In jurisdictions where school prayer is allowed, Catholic schools are forced to allow time and space for Islamic prayers—prayers that call Christians “those who have gone astray” and ask for them to be harmed. Catholics are the original Christians. They defended Christendom from the Islamic invasion during the Crusades and the Reconquista. They were once the vanguard of Christianity. Now they are being forced to capitulate to Political Islam and in their own house, no less. There are voices of protest, but they are not in the majority.
Christianity has had an overall positive influence on society that even the staunchest atheists should be able to appreciate. An example of this is the Golden Rule. It is a biblical principle that everyone agrees with, and is at the heart of many of our laws. Christianity has also contributed to our culture through art, literature and music, building a society and culture that are worth defending.
But now society has become pluralistic in terms of religion, requiring a more secular approach that does not value one religion over another. Valley Park Middle School in Toronto, Canada, following this example, banned school prayers for all religions until around 2008, when according to the Christian Post, it began to allow school prayers on Fridays for Muslim students only. The reason given was that too many Muslim students were not coming back to school after attending Friday prayers at the nearby mosque. Instead of addressing this as a disciplinary issue with students and parents, disobedience and disrespect were rewarded with special treatment. But consider the following hadith:
Sahih Muslim 705b Ibn 'Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah observed the noon and afternoon prayers together in Medina without being in a state of fear or in a state of journey. (Abu Zubair said: I asked Sa'id [one of the narrators] why he did that. He said: I asked Ibn 'Abbas as you have asked me, and he replied that he [the Holy Prophet] wanted that no one among his Ummah should be put to [unnecessary] hardship.)
According to Islamic doctrine, there is no reason to allow any Islamic prayer during the school day either on or off of school property. Friday prayers can be delayed until after school. So why is Islam being appeased?
Even school lunches are not safe from Islamic influence. Some Catholic schools have bowed to pressure to serve halal food in the school cafeteria. The claim is made that Muslim students can’t eat lunch, so therefore halal food should be made available. Many Kafir children take a packed lunch to school instead of eating cafeteria food. Why can’t Muslim children do the same? Additionally, Islamic doctrine does allow Muslims to eat the food that is available if there is nothing else. In fact, it is not in any way necessary for the Kafir to appease Islamic demands for halal lunches:
Koran 2:173 He hath forbidden you only carrion, and blood, and swineflesh, and that which hath been immolated to (the name of) any other than Allah. But he who is driven by necessity, neither craving nor transgressing, it is no sin for him. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Muslim children can eat the same lunch as everyone else.
Whenever Islam’s political ideals and customs force their way into the secular world, they cause degradation to the society, as well as Christianity. Islam is not content to be one ideology among many. It wants to be the only game in town. It is a complete civilizational system, encompassing law, commerce, warfare, religion, private and public life. There is no area of life that Political Islam’s unwanted and negative influence fails to touch. There is no philosophy or spiritual path it does not seek to annihilate and replace with itself:
Koran 8:39 And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah. But if they cease, then lo! Allah is Seer of what they do.
Sahih al-Bukhari 392 Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Messenger said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah."
Political Islam forces submission to its demands by using the double-edged sword of the host society’s own laws and principles (such as freedom of religion) against it. As many countries have witnessed over the last few decades, this jihad technique is highly effective. Yet, it has just been shown here that Political Islam’s own doctrine hides within itself a similar ideological weapon (the principle of darura) that can be used to resist its demands. People can say no, and can cite Islamic doctrine as the reason for doing so. This is good news!
