Terror is a tactic that creates pressure on Kafirs (non-Muslims) until they accept that there is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet. (1)
One of the possible reactions to terror is fear, which creates a dynamic where non-Islamic society takes a passive and/or appeasing role towards Political Islam and its demands. When acts of Islamic political violence occur, the accompanying narrative often blames the victims. All this results in the creation of a more supportive environment for the spread of Political Islam.
Acts of violent jihad happen on a regular basis and have a certain cycle to them (see the pictures below of jihad attacks since 9/11 as of June 2020). We have no evidence as to whether this is planned or coincidental; however, its repeating pattern keeps critical voices silent while the power of Political Islam increases.
Jihad means effort or striving. Jihad comprises 31% of primary Islamic doctrine: 9% of the Koran, 21% of the Hadith (Bukhari) and 67% of the Sira.
Islamic doctrine identifies a clear target for this effort—to strive against Kafirs. (2) The aim of jihad is to establish the whole world as Islamic. (3)
It is imperative, however, to remember that although violence against the Kafir is an important part of jihad, jihad is multi-faceted. Jihad against the Kafir can be carried out in many ways, such as through money, speech, eliminating critics, influencing politicians, public announcements, and Hijra (Islamic political migration). (4)
